MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

Fineblanking

Most suitable for high volume parts requiring great consistency and precision, fineblanking produces components from sheet or plate raw materials of uniformed thickness.

SUPERIOR SURFACE FINISH
The fineblanking process produces parts with cleanly-sheared surfaces comparable to machined smoothness. In just a single operation, fineblanking applications can achieve flatness specifications directly from press - typically holding surface flatness to 0.001 in/in or better. On average, part edges are perpendicular to top and bottom faces to within less than 0.0005" and uniformly smooth/square to a finish of 30 to 60 RMS.

QUALITY TOOLING
Fineblanking dies are the heart and soul of the process. By providing you with quality tooling, we afford you the ability to achieve part consistency and high volume production of your designs. Sourcing internationally allows the tooling to be produced economically.

MAXIMUM DESIGN FREEDOM
Intricate part details such as counter-bores, bends, coined sections, identification marks, gear teeth, self-rivets and countersinks can be directly incorporated into a single station tool. Holes can be spaced closely together or near the part edge, with thin webs. Since all features are made at the same time as the blank, finished parts maintain unparalleled uniformity from piece to piece. Holes of various shapes can be produced without additional processes.

LOW UNIT COST
Fineblanking consolidates conventionally expensive secondary operations into a single manufacturing process for flat parts. Additionally, by achieving high precision, it offers faster turnarounds, reduces material waste, and often eliminates the need to test/fit/adjust parts before assembly.

WIDE MATERIAL SELECTION
The fineblanking process can accommodate a wide variety of materials, including aluminum, carbon steels, low alloy steels, stainless steels. Material thickness should generally range from 0.01" to 0.25" - actual thickness requirements may vary depending on the selected material. For best results, fineblanking materials typically should range in hardness from 50 to 90 HRB.

HIGH STANDARDS OF QUALITY
ISO 9001 is the foundation of our quality assurance system. In addition to our standard quality procedures, we implement quality plans for each part based on your particular inspection and testing requirements.
